Author Bio:
Garrett Drew Ellis is a freelance writer, lay counselor, and deacon-in-training. After suffering what he calls a “Jonah complex”, he accepted his call to be transparent about his own life, including his struggles with same-sex attraction. He eventually committed himself to a life for literary ministry. His life’s goal is to help the world and the Church understand the complex lives of those considered to be outcasts of our society. He has a heart for presenting Christ to the addicted, the hurting, the abused, the dysfunctional and the forgotten through writing on challenging, controversial subjects. Garrett blogs at www.thesearchforfreedom.org and www.garrettdrewellis.com, and has been published by the Christian Broadcast Network (CBN). He lives in Central Pennsylvania with his wife and children where he has an insatiable appetite for anything covered in frosting. He is currently working on a novel, as well as more Bible studies. The Search for Freedom is Garrett’s first book.
Book Recap:
For some men, same-sex attractions are unwanted. In The Search for Freedom: Finding Freedom from Homosexuality, Garrett Drew Ellis shares his testimony of choosing to search out and build a healthy, biblical heterosexual lifestyle, despite feelings of same-sex attraction. Ellis presents biblical truth without condemnation, pronouncing judgment or trying to launch a crusade against homosexuals everywhere. Incorporating the realities from God’s Word that he needed to implement into his own life in order to serve God with his sexuality, he encourages others who may desire to do the same. His sincere wish is that, through this honest presentation of God’s truth, struggling men will consider the healing found in Christ and start their own journeys toward living free of unwanted homosexual attraction. This testimonial includes Bible study, devotionals and space for personal reflection.
Key points of the study include:

• Christ is the ultimate (and necessary) source of freedom
• The importance of supportive godly relationships
• The need for absolute commitment and perseverance
• Freedom is both desirable and attainable
