Martha co-wrote with Dr. Sandra Thomas of ETV two series in social studies and geography, programs viewed weekly in all South Carolina schools. She also co-authored a book on holidays for children.

Born and raised in Cowpens, South Carolina, Martha attended Anderson University (then a two-year college) on a music scholarship after graduating from high school. Book Recap:
An astrocytoma brain stem tumor ended Robyn Axmann’s life when Robyn was just 26, newly licensed and ready to serve the Lord with an MSW degree. Robyn had followed God all her life in everything she did. Throughout her diagnosis and treatment, she continued to do so with every day she was given. Robyn won the race of life.

In this book, Martha Axmann, Robyn’s mother, recounts Robyn’s growing up and college years, her enthusiasm for life, and her unwavering faith despite the devastation of her dreams. Martha opens the windows of her soul and shares how she grew in her Christian faith when she was thrown into the valley of grief over Robyn’s death—and again ten years later when she lost her best friend and companion, her husband, William.

Challenged by Robyn’s godly life, Martha chose to continue serving the Lord despite her losses. Her book offers comfort to other parents who have lost children by pointing them to God with her story and with Scripture, personal letters she received, and notes from sermons. She explains how she adjusted to widowhood and encourages everyone, young people and parents especially, not to take life for granted and to live every day to the fullest, serving God.
